Facebook - Brand Design

Along with our design team and overseeing external agencies, I helped lead the first holistic redesign of the Facebook Brand since it launched. It was a massive collaboration with product, UX, and marketing teams to meaningfully re-engage with the Billions of people who use Facebook every day.

It’s quite commendable how much variety they have been able to extract from each design element thanks to the playful layouts that shift type back and forth, the liberal use of completely different illustration styles, the introduction of other display typefaces, and the unrestricted video and photography approach that can span from high-production values to handheld phone footage. All of it tied together by the typography and Facebook logo, creating a surprisingly recognizable style.
